The Science

There are various techniques and therapies that we employ to support your journey. You may be keen to learn new tools to help you manage change, deal with issues like addiction, or develop the people in your business.

We look at what those techniques are and how they help, as well as explaining some of the terms that we use throughout our website.

Do we all need change therapy?

The simple answer is probably. Most of the time we manage our emotional wellbeing perfectly well. Events and situations impact us and we overcome them by ourselves, or sometimes with the help of loved ones or family members. But sometimes we go through stages in our lives where things are tough, life throws you a curveball, and your coping mechanisms are sometimes overwhelmed. And that’s when we might need some extra support. But with the right help and support, getting back on track and developing a positive mindset is perfectly possible.

What about my Wellbeing?

Most of the time people live happy, fulfilling lives. We have a positive mindset, and we can consider our wellbeing to be in a positive state. Challenges come and go, and we use the tools that we have learnt through experience to mange them. They’re temporary blips, but not a problem for us. But sometimes we can be affected by a multitude of ‘things’. And when stress develops into something toxic we may begin to suffer from common mental health problems like stress, anxiety, and depression.

Those problems can leave us feeling overwhelmed, and like we’re going round in circles in an inescapable spiral. But it is possible to escape that spiral and release toxic stress. By developing coping strategies and tools you can begin to manage those curveballs and change your life.

How about my Lifestyle?

People make choices that affect their lifestyle every day. It might be to start a new hobby, or stop something that impacts us, work on a relationship or career, or buy a new home or holiday. We are able to release stress through our pastimes and mental discipline and enjoy what we do. But do you turn to different means of releasing stress. The tools that you use may work, but are they impacting your life in different ways? For example, does smoking reduce your anxiety? Or perhaps your relationship with food is destructive.

In short, your tools for dealing with everyday stressors can be destructive. But with the right support, you can learn to understand yourself better, and learn to apply more positive ways of managing stressors. Not only that but you can learn to listen to your thoughts and emotions and act positively.

So not only can the right combination of therapies help you to give up smoking, or lose weight, but while you’re working through those issues, you will learn about yourself and how to manage stressors before they become toxic. And the curveballs become things that can be caught and controlled.

But there are other things that affect our lifestyle.

Do you suffer any phobias? How do they make you feel? Phobias can be things that make you jump, right up to life-changing, crippling feelings like being afraid of going outdoors. Every phobia affects people in different ways, causing their own stress and anxiety.

But you can unlearn these fears with the right support, and make a positive change to your lifestyle.

How will Different Therapies Help Me?

The answer to this depends on you, the problems that you are living with, and your ability to manage them. So a combination of different therapies and learning is likely to be the answer. But the purpose of all of the therapies that we talk about here is to empower you as an individual to understand your thoughts and emotions. And once you can do that, you can learn the tools and strategies to help you manage situations and maintain clarity of thought and a positive mindset.

Or make successful life changes to overcome challenges or obstacles that are holding you back by helping you to develop strategies for overcoming these obstacles. Neuro Linguistic programming

What is it?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970s. It is a means of personal reflection and understanding where an individual looks into their own mind to understand the thoughts and emotions that drive their behaviours. Those behaviours are likely to be negative reactions to situations or cause the individual to feel like they are being driven, rather than driving their lives.

How can it help me?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming helps people to develop strategies and tools that will help to overcome and unjumble those thoughts and emotions. Using those tools people will be able to learn how they will react and manage their emotional state, and ultimately develop a positive mindset.
